Many of our customers are interested in finding work helping with the Gulf Clean up activities.  I’ve put together a list of sites that I’ve found that have information on available jobs in the region.  Many of these positions require the OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER training.

I’ll have more about the Florida jobs site tomorrow.  I can’t confirm the availability of any of these positions, so please check out all opportunities thoroughly.

 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training

HAZWOPER is the commonly used term to describe the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training covered under OSHA regulation  29 CFR 1910.120.   OSHA requires this training for anyone involved in clean-up operations, voluntary clean-up operations, and emergency response operations where hazardous materials are present.

This course covers broad issues pertaining to the hazard recognition at work sites. OSHA has developed the HAZWOPER program to protect the workers working at hazardous sites and devised extensive regulations to ensure their safety and health. While identifying different types of hazards, this course, also suggests possible precautions and protective measures to reduce or eliminate hazards at the work place.
